2011 Charm City Cross Day 1 from In The Crosshairs on Vimeo.
The boy enjoyed 2 fine days and honed his tifosi skills. At minute 1:15 to 1:21 my progeny displays his special talent for tomfoolery and shenanigans.
I don't know where he gets it.
Charm City rocked. The course was super fun both days and even though my result looks lousy on paper I felt like I raced for a change. There is indeed hope.
A special shout out to my teammates Jameson and Deirdre who kindly put me up (or put up with me) on Friday and Saturday night. Their gracious hospitality and hilarious friends just added to an already awesome weekend. Saturday night we walked down to 36th Street for dinner at the Golden West Cafe.
I have a new appreciation for tater tots, Thai ice tea, and Bad Andy.
Kris Auer --you are the king. Thanks for letting me be part of C3. The slow, broken part.
I love cross. The racing. The community. I hope it doesn't jump the shark as mountain biking did. Remember how much fun Mt Snow was in the early 90s? The naked crit? Camping on the course? Now it's a giant, expensive bummer--an exploited shadow of its former self. Please don't let this happen to cross. Ugh.

And to end as I began...
