Dirty Girl at the Dump

Every time I conjure images from last week's Bilenky race, I giggle.  This event should carry me through until the Spring Classic.

Last year, I injured myself by relentlessly falling off my bike.  Once I got stuck in a ditch.  This year, I backed into this burning bit of hell and got a 2nd degree burn on my leg:
Erik Silverson found the money spectating venue and captured the action in this video:

Junkyard Cross Race from Erik Silverson on Vimeo.
Vanden Combsie made the trek from the great white north to frolic in Fairmount Park at Bike Therapy's follies and join the hilarity of the Junkyard Cross.  I fretted that the Junkyard CX may have jumped the shark (chronic malcontent that I am) with its organized heats and A list racers descending en masse.

Fortunately, I was proved wrong.  My fears were assuaged when emcee Simon's microphone cord tangled with a racer at the start of the B men's final.  Priceless.

Here are my lame photos:

Here's hoping everyone has a joyous new year.  I'm one Lars Von Trier film away from a total meltdown so I'll be playing Erik's video repeatedly to get me through until the Classic.

Peace.
